Weapon of Mouse Destruction

Just conserved and ready for display at Temple Newsam House is a fine example of an antique mouse trap. Some research indicated what the missing part was, i.e. the string and wedge that holds up the lever, on which goes the bait, and the block, the business end of this mouse masher. Now for some bad free verse poetry about a mouse and a trap, in the style of Thomas Gray's "Ode on the Death of a Favourite Cat"* (everything sounds better in French, so here we go)
